As the coming of the Lord is drawing you, the fear of him in times of judgment also has to be in our heart. We need to balance this understanding of who he is.
At this time we want to be reminded that the fear of God needs to be in our heart. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. This involve respecting, referencing obeying and having a deep awareness of his holiness and authority.
What does it to fear God?
It means or it lies in the keeping of God’s commandments all of the word of God and obey, is in the fear of God. It also means to depart from evil and sin; there is the fear of God in one life when he or she is not involved in sin.
The fear of God is to hate evil, believing the word of God and the fear in it. You will want to keep the word. Wisdom is knowledge applied and knowledge in knowing and being acquainted with the word of God. Wisdom is basically applying the word of God in your life, but the true spiritual wisdom is recognizing God—this will prompt a person to fear him—the real fear of God goes beyond fear or fright; it is doing the word of God.
The fear of God makes one to act on the word of God; it also makes one to find out what the word of God says at a particular time. A person who want to be careful and also want to fulfill God’s word because of the fear. The fear of God makes one want to depart from evil—this fear must not depart from us.
An example was Joseph who had the fear of God; he recognize God, even in the house of his Master. We should take note that the consciousness of holy living is the fear of God. Noah moved with fear and walked with God by building the ark.
God fear must be greater than man’s fear. We should not compromise and go against God’s word; because of the fear of man, rejection persecution, benefits, or sponsorship—God’s opinion has to be greater than man’s opinion. Every believer has to come to this stage in their Christian journey
The fear of God provides obedience; obedience is better than sacrifice. The fear of God keeps us from the imputation of transgression, man system, and lukewarmness. God‘s fear, bring blessing to his people; direction and leading in instruction, also comes from fearing God—fearing God, one must thank God and appreciating, giving him glory always—the fear of God is not in bondage, but the consciousness of holding living.
